Project Padel is Newcastle upon Tyne's first padel centre, offering three premium courts. We partnered with them to to showcase the facilities in an exciting and dynamic short promo film.

With a short window for filming, planning shot for shot was essential. We wanted to incorporate the intensity of the sport and the 'friendly' competition. Carefully capturing indoor aerials with our drone added to the cinematic experience. We also rigged up several POV-style shots and animated 3D padel balls so that we could follow the rally around the court in close up detail.

Filming for both widescreen and portrait formats makes it tricky to find a balance when filming on location, especially with limited time.

To get around this, we created short reels that showcased the essence of the core promo, but used a grid style of several shots to help maintain energetic pacing.

Sound design also played a huge part in the edit. We added effects such as racket hits, player reactions, transition sound effects and a music track to match the narrative of each video.
